Checkers by Purple Software (or Draughts) is the classic strategy board game with the goal of capturing the opponent's pieces. The game is deceptively simple yet full of intricacy. Purple Software's Checkers application allows you to play against the computer, against a human opponent or watch the computer play itself.

Purple's Checkers offers six playing levels ranging from beginner to expert. Unless you are a super-sharp Checkers pro from Russia, you will find this application a worthy opponent. Multiple views and piece sets give the user the option to personalise the screen layout.

The Checkers application supports two-player functionality between two Palm devices (as long as they both have Purple's Checkers installed) via infrared beaming. Additional features include an option to replay a game, take back moves and, if you are in deep trouble, request the computer to suggest your next move.
